For the next 6 days, The Tummy Team is going to give you FREE resources and tips inspired by our Core Foundations course to teach you how and why functional core strength is essential to your everyday life.
This series will include emails that come once a day that will walk you step by step through these essentials giving you a daily goal with new strategies to meet that goal. We anticipate this series will heighten your awareness of what real-life core strength truly is and help you understand how and systematically rebuild real-life core strength. Here is an outline of what will be included in this free resource:
DAY1 FOCUS: ANATOMY, EDUCATION & AWARENESS
Question: What is your core, really?
Goal: To fully understand the anatomy and function of your core (primarily your transverse abdominis “corset” muscle) and gain awareness of how you should and should not be using your core. You do what you know until you know better. This first day will contain foundational information on what you need to know about your true core.
Day 2 FOCUS: CONNECTION
Question: How do you truly activate your core?
Goal: To connect to the muscles of your core. Knowing when you’re transverse abdominis is activated or not and the difference between tense and tight vs long and light. This second day, we will be talking about how to know how to mentally, physically, and emotionally connect to your abdominal muscles. More specifically, what turns your core on and dsawhat turns it off.
Day 3 FOCUS: SITTING ALIGNMENT
Question: Do you know how to sit so your core will activate?
Goal: To learn the importance of optimal sitting posture & alignment to promote core activation throughout your entire day. This day we will be talking about all the places you sit throughout the day and how sitting well can help you activate your transverse abdominis and how this can make a huge impact on healing a weak core.
DAY 4 FOCUS: STANDING ALIGNMENT
Question: Do you know how to stand “long, lean and lifted”?
Goal: To see the benefit of incorporating core activation into how we stand throughout the day and to start adjusting our posture into the optimal elongated active alignment needed to reinforce our functional core strength. This day will provide resources to see how our poor standing posture might be sabotaging our core strength and give us strategies to correct it.
DAY 5 FOCUS: COMPENSATION PATTERNS
Question: Is your body compensating for a weak core?
Goal: Identify the ways that functional core weakness could be causing your body to compensate. If your core is not doing its job then other parts of your body attempt to pick up the slack. As a result of doing jobs they were not intended to do, muscles and joints often suffer and cause pain, muscle tightness, postural changes, and other dysfunction. We will give you resources to better understand compensation and give you some initial tools to address this.
DAY 6 FOCUS: FUNCTIONAL CORE STRENGTH
Question: Is your core strength functional?
Goal: To be able to assess your own functional core strength and understand the process to improve the strength required to effectively function and support your body for the everyday physical demands of life without pain or dysfunction. If it is not functional, then it is not meaningful. We will provide you with tools to reclaim this strength that makes you strong for real life.
DAY 7: A SPECIAL SURPRISE
Everyone has a goal. But to achieve those goals there is a journey…
